Healing in the Mirror: Reclaiming Me Through Self-Care

There was a time I could barely look at myself in the mirror.
Not because I didn't love myself… but because I’d forgotten who I was.

Life had been lifing:
Caregiving full-time.
Running a household.
Trying to keep a dream alive while wondering if anyone even cared.
Losing pieces of me in the process.

But somewhere between the exhaustion and the emptiness,
I felt a whisper:
“Come back home to yourself.”

And I listened.

What Self-Care Looks Like (When You’re Not Okay)

Let’s be real — self-care ain't always bubble baths and retail therapy.
Sometimes, it’s sitting in silence.
Sometimes, it’s crying in the shower.
Sometimes, it’s telling folks “no” without explaining a thing.
And sometimes? It’s oiling your scalp, turning off your phone, and remembering that YOU deserve softness too.

I had to start small:

  • Putting on body butter and speaking affirmations like my life depended on it (because it did).

  • Looking myself in the mirror and saying: You’re still her.

  • Giving myself permission to heal in real time, not rush the process.

  • Reclaiming my glow — not just on my skin, but in my spirit.

Why I Had to Start Pouring Into Me Again

I love my family.
I love my husband.
I love my kids.
But loving them shouldn’t mean losing me.

I realized:
How can I pour into others when I’m running on fumes?
How can I advocate for caregivers if I don't take care of the caregiver — me?

This self-care journey isn’t selfish.
It’s survival.
It’s sacred.
It’s reclamation.

This New Chapter: Healing Loudly. Glowing Softly.

I’m reopening my self-care chapter — and this time, I’m doing it unapologetically.
Not just to survive… but to thrive.
To show other women, caregivers, mamas, and entrepreneurs:
You can go through hell and still rise up glowing.

So if you see me talking more about skincare, affirmations, journaling, and healing rituals… know this:
I’m not selling products.
I’m offering pieces of peace.

Welcome to my glow-up.
And thank you for walking beside me.

With love, oil, and a whole lotta healing,
